Mission
Habitat Restoration Specialists, LLC seeks to restore local ecosystems to be self sustaining by strengthening native plant communities, while increasing wildlife habitat and mitigating the impacts of climate change. We strive to build healthy habitats where people can grow their connection to nature and the desire to protect and steward environments everywhere.
About HRS
The enrichment of a habitat is an intimate experience and one we take seriously. HRS has been participating in and with clients for close to 15 years. We all live in a habitat of one form or another. Make it one you want to repeatedly visit and share with others. Our services range from removal of non-native species by hand, and installation of plants native to the Pacific Northwest Region. We cultivate with global climate change in mind, using "assisted migration" to guide the movement of species, or care for an establishing landscape. Habitat Restoration Specialists can be the one place you can rely on for a habitat enrichment experience second to none.
Land Acknowledgment
We at HRS would like to acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional lands of the Duwamish People, Coast Salish People, Stillaguamish People, Suquamish People, and Muckleshoot People. We honor their past, present, and future here on these lands as we work to restore and steward the ecosystems that have been harmed by settler colonization here in the Pacific Northwest region.
We encourage you to research the traditional occupants of the land you live, work, and travel on. You can visit https://native-land.ca/ to learn more.
The Duwamish Tribe is still fighting for federal recognition, but receive no federal support until they achieve that status. If you live or work on Duwamish territory, we encourage you to pay rent to the Duwamish people to help support social, educational, health, and cultural services. You can visit https://www.realrentduwamish.org/ to learn more.
