MEGAN MEYER "Meg"
Restoration Field Specialist
Meg has been working with HRS since august 2021, but her love for the outdoors has been lifelong. Meg was born in the Tacoma area, and after receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, decided ecological restoration work was her real calling. Getting out in the field, working to remove invasives, control erosion, and help native plants thrive has been exciting and captivating during her time at HRS.
Meg is an avid gardener, greenhouse grower, and PNW native cactus fanatic. Ask her about how cactus species are able to thrive here in Washington state! Her favorite native plant is ribes sanguineum, red flowering currant!
When not at work, Meg enjoys hiking, rockhounding, and adventuring with her dog.
Having moved to the greater Puget Sound Salish Sea area 20 years ago I knew this was going to be home and have worked on improving the space ever since. Starting out in commercial landscaping I knew pretty quickly the straight lines and leaf blowing were not for me. I followed my love of the outdoors to the University of Washington and the pursuit of a Masters of Science, working at two separate ecological restoration companies and finally settling on the successful creation of Habitat Restoration Specialists as the best fit. It's been four glorious years raising this company from the ground up and continuing our pursuit of enhancement and appreciation of our surrounding natural world.
In the few hours I have when not running the company I relish being a husband to my wonderful wife Erin and a parent to our two young kids Thaddeus and Vivienne. Those are truly the reasons for doing what I do in the field. With the little bits of time outside of these full-time activities I enjoy cheering on my Washington Capitals, house improvement projects, volunteering at the local park pulling ivy, raising our chickens and enjoying our fire pit with friends.
